Description

Students in the COH First Five Honors completed 140 hours in QI training, working on the QI project and rotating through the First Five Clinic and Philadelphia FIGHT.

Project Overview

Through the First Five Community Oral Health Honors program, we aimed to create a book intervention and assess the quality assurance of this intervention. Our group decided to focus our attention on preparing children for their visits to the First Five Clinic through the use of a photo book.

Outcome

Through the First Five Honors Program we developed a photo book which will be useful in preparing children to come to the First Five Pediatric Clinic at PDM. Although we did not test the outcomes of our intervention, it is our hope that the outcomes could be tested in the future by analyzing Frankl Scores of children who had a visit with or without the book. Nonetheless, this book will serve as a useful tool for children coming to the First Five clinic as well as students rotating through the First Five clinic.
